| ABOUT MITTAGONG |
| Mittagong is an historic town at the foot of Mt Gibraltar - gateway to the Highlands and one of the earliest settlements (1820s) and has some notable buildings from early colonial times. The town was largely built in the 1860s as an important coal mining and steel producer and today is a major residential and commercial centre.
