THE BERRIMA COURT HOUSE MUSEUM

Built of local sandstone, and by convict labour, the Berrima Courthouse (1841) was feared by criminals, and bushrangers for miles around. The condemned were removed to the foreboding Gaol next door, some to face the hangman. (The Gaol is still in operation.)

There is an audio-visual presentation detailing the early history of the area, creepy cells where prisoners were locked up, and an a-v tableau in the old courtroom.

Worth a visit for kids, and lots of other things to see and do in Berrima.

Open 10.00a.m. to 4.00p.m. daily. Tour takes about 30 minutes.

Cnr. Argyle & Wiltshire Sts., Berrima (opp. Gaol)

Open 11.00a.m. to 4.00p.m. daily. Tour takes about 30 minutes.
